PS. Sorry about the quality of these photos. We rookie parents only had one camera phone between us at the daycare's "Harvest Festival." Forgot the normal camera... Oops.

Feet: It's What's For Dinner.
Tripp learned a valuable new trick this week. His feet are the toys that never go away! Fun to watch him play with them & so glad he can entertain himself with them anywhere we go!
Happy hump day!

During the month of October, I always miss college.
Hope your weekend was fun-filled! I'm pumped about Tripp's Halloween costume and cannot wait to dress him up and share the fun with y'all... stay tuned.

Follow Friday: Working Mom Blogs
Blog neophyte here. Yes, I admit that I am relatively new to this blogging thing, and only in the past year or so started subscribing to blogs and reading them regularly. The world has really opened up for me! There’s so much junk insightful information out there to absorb! From working mom to recipe blogs, righteous religious fanatics to sinners, politicos to self-involved narcissists, there is an endless stream of knowledge, advice, and humor to keep me entertained during the day at work at home on the weekends and in the evenings. People truly will say anything on this here world wide web… as it were, this has also caused me to emphasize the validity of the age old saying, “Don’t believe everything you read.”
I am also new to Twitter, which features a 'Follow Friday' trend. If you haven't yet jumped on the twitter-wagon, here's the deal: On Fridays, using the tag #FF, twitter users promote their favorite fellow tweeters. I thought I would try that here, but promote some of my favorite blogs on Fridays. I probably will not do it every Friday because:
A. I don't follow that many blogs, not nearly enough to create a substantive list each week.
and
B. I probably won't remember on every Friday in the rush to get the weekend started.
But anyway, without further ado… here are a few blogs that I enjoy reading… er, following? I think some of you may also benefit from perusing them from time to time, especially those working moms out there.
- The Juggle (Wall Street Journal)
And… to bring some much needed luck to the Tigers in their effort against the bayou bengals this weekend, here’s a photo of Tripp sporting AU gear that his cousin, Anne, and great-grandmother, Cokey, bought for him. He sure does seem excited to be wearing it, so maybe that will help pull 'em through. WDE!
Have a fabulous weekend!Meg

What's Up Doc?
Well... just after the aforementioned 4 month check up with the doctor, mom's business trip to Charlotte, and Tripp's first overnight stay away from both of his parents in the safe hands of Terri "Shug" Ferguson, we made an encore appearance at the doctor on Wednesday to get ole' Tripp checked for his seal-esque barking on Tuesday night. Yep, you guessed it... he had croup. So we got that treated (turns out there's not a ton they can do other than tell you to wait it out... well that, and steroids...) and it was (hesitantly) back to work and daycare today for us!
You'll also be happy to know that Tripp is (almost) back to his old self, save the snotty nose, sneezing, and congestion. This, too, shall pass, I suppose. We're taking it day by day.
Anyhoo - photos are why you're really here, so here goes:

4 month check up
Tripp went to the doctor on Friday for his 4 month check up. All went well and he is growing quickly! The doc was pleased with Tripp's head control, ability to roll all around, and that we had been experimenting with rice cereal.
In other news, I decided that in our next house, I will have a changing table installed, complete with a mirror and crinkly paper. Fascinating.

Fall is here!
Remember The Gourds? That band that covered Snoop Dogg's "Gin n' Juice" in bluegrass-style? Found out today that they're still touring and even have a website. Crazy, huh? So much drama in LBC...
Speaking of gourds... I also learned today that that is what you call the knobby, squash-like items that you always see around Halloween and that are found all around Tripp in the photo below. I always called them squash, but gourd sounds much more interesting. ... and rhymes with scored, lord, bored.

Rolling Corn was a new activity to me. Not sure I had ever heard of or seen this in my life, but turned out pretty cool... Tripp's "art" is being laminated as we speak and will hang up in the daycare gallery. A regular Picasso.
We love rolling corn! Blue...
... and orange...
... aaaand we're over it.
... and there's always room for a tummy time picture. Tripp can now roll from front to back... and back to front. Accomplishments galore this week!
Hope you have a great weekend! Happy Fall!

Here's to you, Mr. Jobs...
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.
